It is called "Tirana Moons" and it is an artistic installation with a cost of about 390 thousand euros, which the Municipality of Tirana intends to build in Mother Teresa Square.
The project was realized by the collaboration of the local studio "UDV Architects" (owned by Dhimitri and Kostandin Jano) and the studio "Precht" of the Austrian architect Chris Precht, which is known in Albania for the fact that it realized "Eden Park" - one "green paradise" of 3.6 million euros - inside the Prime Minister's Office.
Similar to the case of "Eden Park", also for "Tirana Moons" it is unclear how the "Precht" studio was selected for this installation and even more the reason that justifies such an investment.

The project envisages the return of the center of the "Mother Teresa" square into a space "optimized for interaction with moon-shaped domes that house various activities".
Domes, described as "spherical pavilion" are expected to be made of wood and covered with tents, some of them will also have bookshelves. At the same time, more than 100 concrete pots, 50 benches and the return to the green area of about 260 square meters of the square, which will be reconceived as a recreational area, are foreseen.
The competition for the construction of the "Tirana Moons" installation was opened on Monday, January 6, with a competition deadline of January 21. The project is expected to take 6 months to complete.
In the functional description of the work, it is mentioned that the design is not only aesthetic, but the space will serve as interactive, functioning as a shelter, for various activities.

Waiting for the shelter to open "Moons of Tirana" and many other shelters which are still closed in the capital, citizens do not seem to have many cultural alternatives such as "open shelters".
The doors of the National Library in Tirana remain "closed" as it is not e the only building that cannot be accessed at the moment. Similarly, the National Museum and the Art Gallery - closed for reconstruction - while the capital city lacks the Circus, the National Theater and the Puppet Theatre.
With such an installation situation "Moons of Tirana" is unlikely to fill the cultural void in the capital.
